Waterfowl Migration

Lack of cold and snow to the north has brought the waterfowl hunting season in Southern Illinois to a screeching halt! It seems as though most of the calendar migrators are through and we are waiting on the snow/ice migrators. Hundreds of thousands of birds are holed up from northern Illinois all the way to Wisconsin and the Dakotas due to abundant uncovered food sources and open water. We need snow up north in a bad way! We only have a few weeks left for ducks in the South Central waterfowl zone in Illinois. The goose migration is way behind the last couple years as well. Everyone needs to start doing their snow dance for the north so we can get more birds down here.
