The first strong cold front of the year is rolling through the Central and Mississippi flyways and along with it is the first good push of ducks. Most of the birds are divers, teal, and pintail. The larger concentrations of mallards are still sitting in the Dakotas and Canada. It won’t be long and the “big ducks” will arrive. We’re getting into the time of the year were we have bowling ball type weather systems every week to 10 days. As the season progresses, the temperatures will fall with each passing front bringing with it the heart of the migration!
